I am the Fleet Manager here at Charles Trent and I am responsible for overseeing our transport system and ensuring that it is fit for purpose. I assess and recommend the trucks the company needs in its fleet, I have the privilege to buy and spec the trucks to our requirements and then arrange routine maintenance of vehicles to keep their performance optimal. I also communicate with drivers daily, ensuring that they are kept up to date with relevant training and/or qualifications.
I’ve worked for the company for over 40 years, starting with a Saturday job as a Car Park Attendant. Over the years, I’ve taken on a variety of roles including Parts Specialist, 7.5T Driver, HGV Driver, Vehicle Storage Forklift Driver, and Workshop Manager.
Trents is a great company to work for, always moving forward with new technology & innovations within the vehicle dismantling industry.

I started four and a half years ago in the Quality Control department as an Inspector, grading and checking parts that go in stock after the cars have been dismantled following the VRA standard, then moved into the Run and Test Team as a technician, testing and checking parts on the cars where I could apply my mechanical knowledge to get around problems like getting engines started that have been involved crashes. This role really appeals to me as I work on many various cars from low end to high end luxury cars that I would never have the opportunity to work on elsewhere. After two years, I became Supervisor in the Run and Test Team and recently began a Toyota Lean Management course to further develop my skills.
From day one, I felt welcomed by a supportive and driven team. Working with such talented colleagues has pushed me to grow and learn. The environment is creative and focused on continuous improvement. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and excited about what the future holds at Trents.

I started my journey in Warranty and Returns as an Advisor, where I quickly developed a strong foundation in customer service. Over time, I transitioned into my current role as a Customer Service Team Leader, where I now lead the Warranty and Returns team. In this role, I've had the opportunity to create and refine processes that improve both customer satisfaction and team performance.
I’m currently focused on data analysis, helping to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and assisting my team in overcoming challenges to provide exceptional service. Leading the team has been incredibly fulfilling, as it allows me to support my colleagues, develop their skills, and drive continuous improvement. It’s exciting to see the positive impact of these efforts on both our customers and the wider business.

I joined Charles Trent straight out of university in a parts pricing role, ensuring vehicle parts were accurately detailed and priced to market value. This gave me a strong foundation in our products and market. With support to develop my skills, I was promoted to Commercial Data Analyst and I now provide insights to department heads to help streamline operations, using Excel, Power BI, and SQL to turn data into information and driving actions.
It’s a fast-paced but friendly environment where you’re trusted to take initiative. I’ve felt valued from day one, and the business continues to invest in my long-term growth and career development, fostering a supportive and dynamic workplace culture.

When I got told I was being offered a job in Warranty and Returns at Trents, I could not have been more pleased. This company took a chance on a young adult who needed the opportunity to show what she can do.
Working in my department has allowed me to develop and grow as a person and professionally in ways I didn’t realise I could. I get to see all kinds of sides to how Trents operates; from customer care in the office, to the days I get to be in the warehouse processing returns and working with our fantastic Quality Control team! Here, I feel wanted, included, and supported, and I hope to be a part of my team for as long as I can.

I also liaise between the drivers and the yard team to ensure that the loading and unloading of our fleet is conducted in a safe, timely and courteous manner. I also take care of any fleet maintenance in the Fleet Manager’s absence.
I have worked at Trents for 26 years. I started as an HGV Driver and progressed to my current role. Trents is a supportive and respectful company to work for where everyone feels valued and included and where a positive and inclusive culture is fostered.

I’m a Logistics Administrator at Trents, where I’m responsible for managing the timely and efficient collection of vehicles on behalf of insurance companies. This ensures we consistently meet the strict service level agreements required by our partners.
I began my employment in January 2008, just two months after arriving in the UK from the Philippines! Working at Trents has played a significant role in helping me adapt to life in a new country and integrate into British culture, both professionally and personally.
At Trents, everyone is treated with genuine respect. Like me, many colleagues feel a true sense of belonging, thanks to the company’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace through meaningful investment and support.
